How to Use PulseX DEX — The Complete Beginner Guide

📅 March 5, 2026⏱ 6 min read🔑 PulseX DEX how to use

PulseX is the primary decentralised exchange on PulseChain — the place where you swap tokens, buy pTGC, and provide liquidity to earn trading fees. It operates exactly like Uniswap on Ethereum but with transaction costs of fractions of a cent instead of $20–100. This guide walks through everything: connecting your wallet, making your first swap, understanding slippage, and how to buy pTGC directly.

What is PulseX?

PulseX is an Automated Market Maker (AMM) DEX — the same architecture as Uniswap v2. Instead of order books, it uses liquidity pools. Each trading pair (e.g. PLS/pTGC) has a pool funded by liquidity providers. When you swap tokens, you trade directly against the pool, and the AMM algorithm adjusts prices based on the ratio of tokens in the pool.

PulseX launched alongside PulseChain in 2023 and serves as the ecosystem's primary liquidity hub. Its native token is PLSX, which earns a share of all protocol fees when staked in the "Rate Share" mechanism. Trading fees on PulseX are 0.3% per swap — same as Uniswap v2 — distributed to liquidity providers.

Step 1 — Connect MetaMask to PulseX

Before using PulseX, ensure MetaMask is configured for PulseChain (Chain ID 369, RPC https://rpc.pulsechain.com). Navigate to app.pulsex.com and click "Connect Wallet" in the top right corner. Select MetaMask, approve the connection in the MetaMask popup, and you'll see your wallet address appear in the interface.

Make sure you have some PLS in your wallet for gas fees. Even though fees are tiny, you need at least a small amount to initiate transactions.

Step 2 — Swap Tokens

The swap interface is simple: select the token you're selling in the top input and the token you're buying in the bottom input. Enter the amount, review the exchange rate and estimated output, then click "Swap." MetaMask will prompt you to confirm the transaction and show the gas fee (usually a fraction of a cent).

Step 3 — How to Buy pTGC on PulseX

pTGC is a reflection token — every buy and sell has a transaction fee that's distributed to holders as PLS. When buying pTGC on PulseX, you need to set slippage high enough to account for this fee. The exact required slippage is shown on the official pTGC onboarding page.

The easiest path: use the official pTGC onboarding link which guides you through the exact settings. Alternatively, on PulseX: select PLS as your "from" token, search for pTGC in the "to" field, enter the contract address if not listed, set appropriate slippage, and confirm the swap. Your pTGC will appear in your wallet and start earning PLS reflections immediately.

Step 4 — Provide Liquidity (Advanced)

Liquidity providers (LPs) deposit equal values of two tokens into a pool and earn 0.3% of all trades through that pool. For example, providing PLS/pTGC liquidity earns you fees every time someone buys or sells pTGC. However, LPs face impermanent loss — if token prices diverge significantly from your entry ratio, you end up with less value than just holding the tokens. For beginners, simply holding pTGC for reflections is simpler and requires no active management.

Reading the PulseX Interface

The PulseX analytics page (info.pulsex.com) shows 24h trading volume, total value locked (TVL), and individual pool statistics. Monitoring pTGC's trading volume gives you a sense of how much passive income is being generated for holders — higher volume means more reflections distributed per day. During high-volume periods, daily reflection yields can be significant for sizeable holdings.
